PAINTING WITH LIGHT!

I love this so much! It is painting with light, and I have seen this but never tried it. If you haven't tried you need to try it because it is a lot of fun. To make them you need light:
And you need a camera, to learn about how to set it up right this site really helpful! Basically, you just need to set the exposure up high. to make them these two tips are very important:
If you have an idea try it, because it might turn out great!
If it doesn't try again because practice makes perfect!

Get inspired, and do it yourself. Here are more of my results I used two types of cheap flashlights and glow-sticks. It is very important to find a very dark place, and remember the flashlight will light up the room a little. Bright white lights make a bigger impact, but colors look cool too!

 These were taken outside:

This heartbeat turned out really neato!

These were taken inside:

 GLOW-STICKS!:

I recommend putting glow sticks on your hand in some way: (these are shown by my new antique find from the greater columbus antique mall)

 These ones are my favorite:

These are kind of dark but I love the circular shapes!

 It reminds me of fireworks!:
Remember to think outside of the box :)
 Arrows are cool:(says me)
All photographed by the same camera by me :). And to finish it I made this:

Okay so maybe I need to work on my air-writing but again, practice makes perfect.  Thanks a lot, please let me know if you do this I would love to see your results!

DIY IPAD WALLPAPER!

So I sat on my couch, checking my e-mail. I turn my Ipad off, when I turn it bak on I realize that my Ipad has a very boring wallpaper. The screen when you first turn your device on or the "lock screen" was blah and boring. I like to be able to say," I made that". And what better thing to make than your own wallpaper! In a few easy steps you can be able to make your own wallpapers like these:

So instead of having to try to configure the right size when you set it as your wallpaper you could just make the photoshop document the right size. When you do this the wallpaper fits perfectly! You have a lot of creative freedom for this project! A good tool to use if you want a nice hand drawn effect is a computer tablet like this:
It is a nifty little board that acts like a sketchpad for the computer!
It plugs into your computer where USB drives would go... So If you want that you should get it because it is really fun and useful. To start, open a new document in photoshop:
Open it as width and Height: 1024 pixels. Resolution: 300. And keep all other presets.
 Layer>New>Layer
Click OK, and now you can upload pictures.
I am using my portrait as an example of a picture.
To edit (make big/smaller/rotate) got to Edit>Free Transform.
When you get to a size you like, click enter.

To save right go to File>Save As

Name it, select destination, and most importantly change the file format to JPEG. Click Save. The wallpapers are a great way to personalize your device and I will definitely be making more. Here is what they look like on your screen:

As you see, they fit great! If you make any, I'd love to see your results! Thanks,

MONSTER REMAINS NECKLACES!

My newest project is the one I made today:

They turned out really cool, they are (according to me) called monster remains necklaces, because one is full of "broken fairy wings" and the other of "monster hair". I got these as a gift:
I love them because they have the cuteness of tiny things and the shine of glass! They are made for scrap booking from 7 Gypsies. They are about this big:
So now you might be wondering what is inside them... well I'll tell you! First I got some cool shiny shards of plastic things:
I used a small measuring cup to get them into the tubes. You might of expected, the tiny cork comes off with a good tug:
Filling it:
Here is the first one finished, since they are monster remains, I say this is filled with broken fairy wings:
Now it's time to start the second one. By the way I got both of the filler things from my grandma, similar things could be found at any good craft store pretty cheap. For example, this product looks just like wool roving except its shinier:
This was really easy to get in and It creates a shimmering smoke sort of effect:
I say that this one is full of monster hair! :)

Love it! Now since I have been trying to work on my photography skills I did a small photoshoot, inspired by the contrast between glass and wood:

All of these photos were taken in or around the woods by my house, I love how you can look straight ahead and not see anything but trees!
This photo really shows the contents of the tubes in a better way, I loved this project. Something about only having two makes them more special! Hope you like this as much as I do!
