I have seriously been meaning to do this ever since I have started this blog and I just recently got around to it! I am so glad I did thoug because I think it could bring a lot more traffic to my blog. There are a few tutorials around the blog and internet world, but they can get very confusing and use terms that are confusing. I found a way that I like, and you can do, without knowing all this stuff about html codes to make you own blog button.
Following this tutorial, you will make something that looks like this. (its not interactive like it will be on your blog).
On your blog, people can easily copy and paste the code from the box to their blog or site and it will link to your blog when you click on it. Now copy and paste this code into Microsoft office word (or the Stickies app on Mac).
Now go to this very helpful site and copy the code. It is on step 6.
That looks very confusing but its not, I swear! You probably see where it says things in capital letters.
This is where you insert the info. its talking about. My code looked like this:
So basically a whole bunch of jibber jab that is way beyond me. For blogger, you can use the gadget called "html or javascript" and copy and paste your code. It worked for me and hopefully for you too!
So now that you might think that this is too confusing for you, but this is where things start to make sense.
Forget about the html for a while!
Now make yourself a spiffy button. I am planning to make more but my first one looks like this:
With the right picture you like, that is the right amount of pixels, upload it to Photobucket. My button is 150 by 150 pixels. This size worked for me and is a little small but should work in to fit on the sidebar of most blogs. On Photobucket, after it is uploaded you should click on the picture so that you see something like this:
When you scroll over a picture in your album it makes this helpful chart thing pop up! Now you will start to put things into your html!
First, put your web address in between the " and the /" (replacing the PUT WEB ADDRESS). Now it should look something like this:
I'm guessing that you can use the image's html or it's link (also found in the chart of the picture on Photo Bucket). Now just continue to replace the capital letters with whatever it says, which is just your link again, and the image's link.
Hope this wasn't too terribly confusing!

Ive been trying to figure this out myself, will come back and re-read this slowly, haha and hopefully it will work for me!
