DIY MUSHROOM NECKLACE

I have been seeing mushrooms a lot lately, which is weird because before this craze came on I truly did have a hidden admiration for the graphic-ness of red and white mushrooms. So I made this necklace last night:

The small second mushroom is hiding in this picture but I thought this was a little cheap and quick way to add some mushroom-iness to your jewelry collection! It is as simple as you probably think it is:

You might have heard about my love of black and white pictures so this explains it:). Anyway, first get a small ball of red, or whatever color you like clay. And get a small ball of white clay. Also get some of those stick thingies that have the stopper at the end. I found them at Jo-Anns, look in the jewelry/ beading department.

Form your red clay into the first shape. It is a sort of thick disk. I don't think I need to explain how to sculpt these though... but once they are sculpted, stick them onto your stick thingy so that the stopper catches it.

Roll tiny balls and stick them on, then cut off excess stick thingy, and roll into a loop. NOw just attach your jump ring, chain, and chain connector and your done! (easiest done with some handy-dandy needle-nose pliers!)

Aren't these just charming? They are double cool because they are small so yea! I have posted twice tonight so I pat myself on the back :). But remember if I'm not posting it just means I'm working extra hard on my next post! Thanks for everyone's comments and critiques about each of my crafts. I read every comment and greatly appreciate it. Thanks,

Ty

I will so make this, but first, I was wondering:
If you're using oven-bake clay such as Sculpey, would you put the stick-thingy into the mushroom and THEN bake it? I'm just not sure how the metal would react with errything..

    1. I put the thing in before I baked it. It is metal so didn't react in any unusual way. If you have a plastic version of the skewer that would melt, I suggest that you poke a hole in each section, bake, then insert it. Hope this helps:)

The red and white mushrooms are Amanita muscaria also known as Fly Agaric.
