NEW YEAR ORGANIZING

Happy New Year, 2012! A lot of people make resolutions at this time but I never follow through. I would like to be more organized so I decided to make that the first post of the New Year. My main craft-storage-center, is the armoire in the family room. I have a side and my brother has the other side. My side is cluttered with past, present, and future craft materials and projects. I knew this needed to change. Here is my side at first:
I know, its pretty horrible, but I'll show you how it went from that to this:
Here is a short video showing how long it took to empty it out, keep in mind it is sped up but it really didn't take that long.

Ok so before we get to labeling and stacking you have to find the containers. I found mine around my house. I guess it runs in the family to have a surplus of organizing supplies. Here are all the containers I used:

  • tool box
  • file holder
  • pencil pouch
  • 2 regular containers
  • 1 small container
  • jewelry/bead organizer
  • spice rack
I really like this next part....LABELS! To make them you either need a label maker, or what I used is the pre-cut label paper where you can print them off. Here is what they looked like on the computer:
Here they are once they are printed, peeled, and stuck-on:

I'll leave what to organize for you but I figure a lot of people have Jewelry making supplies. If you're wondering the font I used, it's called alphabetized cassette tapes, I love it (its my favorite font).  Here is everything done and labeled ready for the year ahead of yarn and messes:
1st level: I have lots of space left that I can use.
2nd level: things are cramped, but easy to get to.
3rd level: has a unique and useful utility light so I can see everything.
I think this was a successful project and I hope now you can organize your messy spaces too! Please comment or e-mail me at awesomeartist99@hotmail.com.
