DIY BUSINESS CARDS

So I have been working really hard to get the word out about this blog, and so far its worked :). But I like the idea of making creative business cards, so I decided to try. This is what you could make with a few easy steps:

The first step can either be done by hand or with photoshop and being me I chose the digital version. So a normal business card is about 2.5 by 3inches. You can cut out each one, its slow and time consuming but it might be worth it to you. Not to me, so on photoshop first open a new document:
If you can't see you can change the preset to U.S. paper(8.5 by 11 in.)  I named it Business Cards, and press ok. Now open another document, this time set it to width: 3, and height: 2.5:
Once it is open, select the layer and duplicate it to Business cards, or the first document:
Now there are two layers, I didn't know how many cards would fit on one page so I tried this:

It turns out only ten can fit, you should do this too because of the next step:

Outlining them...it is a lot easier if you did the last step and it didn't take that long.

I typed my website, but left room for my signature, that I wanted to handwrite. I think it makes it alot more special and heartfelt. Now print:
and cut out:

Now there are a lot of options, it was kind of overwhelming because I have so many ideas. I narrowed it down to two. For the first one I used empty silver brads:

I stuck them in a styrofoam cup to keep them upright and steady:

I had also added some of the hardware parts that I found at Mendelson's, they look like little washers and are really cool. I also put a different unique bead in each of them:
The next step is to use mod podge 3d magic, my favorite glue ever, even though I use it more like resin. Spread it around the circles, the little edges on the brads catch the glue but you still can't glop it on there too much:

They should dry overnight so that they are firmer, here they are when they are dry:
And stuck on the card:

Yet to come is the signature at the top, TRP (initials). But for now this is the finished product, I love the brad, it is kind of sculptural and it catches the light. I mean who doesn't like shiny things? Here is the second card:

I had left over chopped colored pencils from another project. This really sends out the right message about my blog, I love to reuse things. Overall this was a great, easy project and its easy for anyone. Thanks :)
